Partnership for Sustainable Development: Elen and ICK Sign Cooperation Agreement
On March 1, 2025, at the Innovation Centre Kosovo (ICK), a formal cooperation agreement was signed between Elen and ICK. The partnership aims to develop joint programs in green technologies, with a strong focus on educating and training young people in the clean energy sector.
This collaboration marks a strategic step toward bridging vocational education with the real needs of the industry, contributing to a more sustainable future for Kosovo.
Academy for Solar Energy and Battery Storage Solutions
As part of this agreement, the Academy for Solar Energy and Battery Storage Solutions was established—an educational program aimed at empowering young people through:
- Full scholarships for professional training in renewable energy technologies;
- Paid practical work experience at Elen;
- Hands-on training based on modern standards and contemporary technologies.
This initiative is part of the “TechEco Pathways” project, supported by the “Skills for Sustainable Employment in Kosovo” program, funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by LuxDev – the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency.
Intensive Training: “Solar Energy and Batteries”
From March to June 2025, as part of the academy, a three-month professional training program titled “Solar Energy and Batteries” was successfully carried out. The program was led by engineers and experts from Elen.
Twelve scholarship recipients were selected to participate in this advanced training, which included:
Theoretical lectures and hands-on, in-field training with real-world technologies.
- Design and installation of photovoltaic solar systems;
- Battery sizing and energy storage management;
- Hybrid solutions for energy storage and optimization;
- Theoretical lectures and hands-on, in-field training with real-world technologies.
Certification Ceremony: A Shared Success Moment
On June 23, 2025, a graduation ceremony was held at the Innovation Centre Kosovo (ICK), where 12 participants from Elen’s training program were officially certified for successfully completing the course.
During the same event, additional participants from the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity were also certified, bringing the total number of graduates supported by LuxDev under its sustainable development initiative to 41.
This achievement highlights the power of collaboration between the private sector, educational institutions, and international development partners — all working together to empower youth and prepare them for the challenges of the green economy.
